What Makes A Lacanche Range

There is a simple belief at Société Industrielle Lacanche, which permeates through every employee and aspect of the factory. This belief is to manufacture a product of substance and beauty which will give many years of service and enjoyment.

This belief begins with the design. Simplicity is the key to functionality and reliability. Lacanche ranges are designed and specified in house at the factory. The design team draws on decades of experience from both commercial and domestic applications. Robustness is built into the design, from the elegantly simple two-piece powerful gas burners, to the individually hand welded corner of the stainless-steel hob tops. Each component is designed and specified to give substance to your Lacanche.

In my career, I have been fortunate to visit many factories around the world. Most of them are what would be considered assembly plants. Most of the components are manufactured elsewhere by other companies and then assembled at the main site. This is not the Lacanche way. The majority of the components for your Lacanche are produced at the factory, from the oven cavities to the beautiful enamelled finishes, are all manufactured by Lacanche. Even components that are manufactured by our partners are designed by Lacanche and sourced as locally as possible. An example of this is the brass burner hats, designed by Lacanche and manufactured only two hours from the factory. This belief even applies to the raw materials required to manufacture your Lacanche. Sheet steel for your range is sourced in France.

It is on the factory floor that you begin to understand the philosophy of Lacanche. Sheet steel arrives at the beginning of production and then, by hand, each range is created, built to the customers desired specification, ready for a life of service as the centrepiece of your kitchen.

In this age of disposable products, it is very special to see a range being created, knowing that it will give years of service, and even when it reaches the end of its working life, 97% of your Lacanche can be recycled.

I am often asked what makes Lacanche different from other range cookers. I could point to the choice of range, the build quality, enamelled colours, or even the performance. For me, what makes Lacanche is that simple belief: to manufacture a product of substance and beauty which will give many years of service and enjoyment.
